Operational Excellence

Delivering Opex Successfully

Lean and Six Sigma Projects and Development

Lean Six Sigma is a methodology that relies on a collaborative team effort to improve performance by systematically removing waste, combining lean manufacturing/lean enterprise and Six Sigma to eliminate the eight kinds of waste (muda in Japanese): Transportation, Inventory, Motion, Waiting, Over production, Over processing, Defects, and Skills (abbreviated as ‘TIMWOODS’).

Improvement Architecture Ltd., is a strong partner and has significant experience in Lean Six Sigma we have now expanded our methods used to add value by supporting overall business strategy for an organisation.

Lean Six Sigma has been used over the last 20 years to support improvement within organisations and ensure that focus remains on customers’ needs and wants.

Operational Excellence applies to every level and every person in the organisation, from executives all the way down to the employees producing the product. The power is in the value stream and the analysis around it.

Improvement Architecture have a unique and robust way to implement Six Sigma, a number of our consultants are trained to Master Black Belts, they have the experience, skills and know how to implement this into your company.

Delivery of Six Sigma training has traditionally been delivered by training focused organisations in a condensed delivery (sets of 4 or 5 days) or “boot camp” scenarios, to maximise the number of candidates that can be processed.  Improvement Architecture firmly believe this type of training is ineffective as it imparts a lot of information but transfers very little knowledge, which prevents sustainable application of the methodology over the longer term. We have a unique offering of coaching the candidates every step of the way. We deliver in-house training and provide offsite support to candidates should they have any questions or queries.

  • Significant cost-savings for the client up to £ 300,000.
  • Return on Investment is guaranteed.
  • Develop robust problem solving and project management methodologies.
  • Implement the ability to understand process characteristics to solve complex problems.
  • Coach candidates through the implementation process to ensure maximum results are achieved.
  • Around the clock support for the company both onsite and offsite.

Improvement Architecture’s aim is to build the knowledge over time by delivering a modular format of one and two day blocks over a 3 to 6 month time frame whilst the candidates complete a project from definition through root cause identification, the creation of the most effective solution and the introduction of appropriate control mechanisms. This approach has been shown to produce better long-term results, please call for case study results.

Improvement Architecture align their training content and approach with the ISO 13053-1 & 2 to ensure it matches and exceeds all the elements of this international standard.

The service and support I received from Improvement Architecture during our Lean Six Sigma implementation was fantastic. All through the process Graham was very professional, advising on team and individual development and being flexible with our progress to align with the business needs.

I’ll continue to use Improvement Architecture Ltd. to support future project activities
